Up first this week I've got a reissue of an early Ceephax cassette tape from back in 2000 called 'Drive Time', of which there were apparently only 500. It's an interesting departure from the full-on acid bangers we're used to from the terrifyingly unphotogenic man (check out the picture on his Discogs profile IF YOU DARE) who throws a mixed bag of primitive-fi warblers, ambient space washers and comedy gibber potboilers into our grateful faces. There's a shitload of tracks and a ridiculous amount of ideas floating around on this one. Some of the tracks come off like little Radiophonic Workshop experiments, my favourite being the one with a slowed down meow over the top of some sinister old-school synth action, it's like you're being hunted down by a giant moggy on a deserted spaceship and every time you poke your head out of your hidey hole a furball made up of machines and your dead crewmates whistles past your head with deadly force. What fun!
