I've just had a look at the inner bit of the self-titled Possum Moods CD on 555, a label that now hides on a ranch in Arizona. That guy Stewart who runs the thing, there's a picture of him & I swear he's morphing slowly into Jeremy Clarkson. He looks SO English I can't imagine him rounding up cattle for a living. Which he does when he's not recording with his faithful roster of bands/friends and running this hardy indie. So back to the CD, this is good time lo-fi indie with hints of Aislers Set, Eggs & early Sarah, songs that are cut from the sweetest cloth, recorded organically, DIY fashion, with a bashful soul, a lot of heart and a large portion of wistful love. I'm unsure as to whether it's just his good lady wife who's gentle voice adorns these melodic, rattly sketches but she's a lovely voice and the songs are quite irresistible in a 1992 wallowing way (IE when bands actually did "indie" music instead of getting twatty haircuts).
