‘Dark Was The Night’! It’s always good to see an old friend. Back in the late-00s, when indie-rock culture had reached fever pitch, a collection of the scene’s most eminent artists banded together to create this compilation as a fundraiser for AIDS/HIV charity The Red Hot Organization. This album really does have an incredibly strong lineup - Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, David Byrne, Feist and Dirty Projectors feature on the first five songs alone.

Just landed is a 2CD and 3LP compilation on 4AD entitled 'Dark Was The Night' and it's a release to raise funds for The Red Hot Organization which is a charity that is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS. The artists on there all provide exclusive material which will get some of you salivating. Peep the cast list: Antony, Arcade Fire, Beirut, Andrew Bird, Blonde Redhead, Bon Iver, The Books, David Byrne, Cat Power, The Decemberists, Devastations, Dirty Projectors,Grizzly Bear, Iron & Wine, Kronos quartet, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens, Yeasayer, Yo La Tengo and many more. If that doesn't make you 4AD types want to buy it then I give up.
