Frokost are a Danish duo who win massive points for sealing their snazzily packaged 'The Sound Of My Wooden Chest' CD sealed with a glossy red sticker of a dog monster. It's this minimalist design & attention to detail I find hugely intriguing, like it's daring you to open it. Will the dog bite your face off or lick you? Apparently I've just been informed we're traveling to Snowdonia in Wales with a real wolf tomorrow. Well fackin' excited by that I am boyos. When you eventually get inside this CD you're in for a treat of sideways Deus-esque pop, a little like electronic voodoo lounge rock. I'm kinda reminded a bit of Fujiya & Miyagi (a little) but if they listened to Tom Waits. There's some deliriously funky sketches on here, some really skewed DIY pop, full of inventive flourishes and quirky grooves, reminding us a lot of Beck in parts too. On the whole, a delight that actually gets better as it progresses. No front loaders these Danes. A cool smoke from start to finish. That's if you dare dally with the dawg.
