So sad to note the tragic passing of founding School of Seven Bells man Benjamin Curtis. What a terrible shame. Anyway here is a re-issue of the debut School of Seven Bells album in which he collaborated with identical sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza on a form of electronic dream pop that was slightly ahead of the curve in that loads of people do this sort of thing these days. Sweet futuristic songs with tuned vocals its generally a winning formula. White vinyl re-press, 300 copies.

this shouldn't work but it does - shoegaze, mixed with electronica that at times sounds like stuff the Corrs or Enya might be brought onto to do guest vocals on but it does fully twist and float and twist and float around and around the room and your head. very catchy and powerful while controlled.

the sisters look and sound like Hope Sandoval and that can be no bad thing. this albums works on sunny days, lazy afternoons but also late nights. memorable and etheral at the same time.
