This one's a 12" EP on People in the Sky by Ghostape. This one's a 12" EP on People in the Sky by Ghostape. 'Allez Allez' has a remix by Screen Tests who turn the original into a strangely addictive mid tempo electro funk stepper with these hovering glacial synth bursts that remind Philthy of Simple Minds when they were good, these spaced out Female vocal samples and a heavily tripped out cosmic disco vibe. It's quite a corking downtempo number & I might spin this at the next party I do amongst all the other badly mixed, horribly misplaced songs I throw at people when they're off their nut. 'After After' is like mogadon motorik slo-pop with eerie effects & an intriguingly crappy chuntering guitar that sounds like a strangled parrot. The lyrics towards the end are sleazy & fucked distorted chirrups & moans from a one woman mind mental. I prefer the balearic chill pop mix of 'Many Stars' (Ste remix) It's poised so beautifully like some of the trippy lounge shit with that tranced ladies tones that you'd hear on old Cafe Del mar comps between all the holiday programme cheeze. So 2 mixes on here are well good for 9.30 AM on a Thursday. Where's my coffee? Grrrr..
