I kind of like those Viper comps. They're a light hearted take on songs of old and they normally compile a decent selection on each CD to while your time away before your impending death. After the awesome American Protest Songs I'll always give 'em a good listen as I still play that now. Their latest theme is Hot Guitars and it's as 20 track comp bringing together US Songs from the 20's to the 50s. Such guitars heroes as Bo Diddley, Chet Atkins, Chuck Berry, Les Paul, Django Reinhardt etc all feature on here as well as lesser known folks (to me anyway!) as Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Eddie Hill, Jimmy Murphy etc. Not heard of any of them.... They could have been the dogs bollocks in their day but the passage of time has denied them the fame garnered by other such guitar plucking luminaries. This is a cheeky comp with it's roots in US rock & Roll, Bluegrass, Country and Blues. I like the tracks that sound like the music from Ren & Stimpy the best but then that's cos I'm a child and I like cartoons and anything that reminds me of that is good. I like sweets as well. I like this CD too so I like cartoons, sweets and this CD.
