6/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 28th June 2015
This is the third album by Secret Machines and was released after Ben Curtis had left the band to form School of Seven Bells. There is something missing from this in comparison to what came before it, and I can only imagine that it was what ever Ben Curtis brought to the band. Their trademark sound of heavy Led Zeppelin-esque drums with spacey melodies - kind of like a less bonkers Flaming Lips - is present on songs like "Last Believer, Drop Dead" but it lacks the anthemic choruses that made "Now Here Is Nowhere" and "Ten Silver Drops" more memorable albums. I feel like they're going through the motions rather than really putting their all in to it.
