Artefacts For Space Travel. Nice name. W.S.Burroughs sourced apparently. They've a 6 track CD on Stolen comprising of slightly psychedelic fuzzed up indie pop that reminds me by the second track, of Dawn of the Replicants. Wonky lyrics put through some flange spazzzz pedal and slightly discordant scratchy rifferama. Like it loads. I actually respect the bands on Stolen as they seem to source authentic sounds and rely on classic influences but write catchy original songs that leave an old dog like me in a much happier predicament than if I was listening to, say, Late of the Pier. Yep I like this band and I think they've realized the best recipe for slightly skewed indie rock with a healthy dollop of new wave/psych weirdness. Just buy 'Power Of The Brain'cos they don't really sound like anyone else around at the moment which is fucking astonishing given the gobsmackingly ridiculous plethora of new bands firing out of Professor Musick's glass sphincter every fucking day. Ace.
