Here's the debut CD by AU called Verbs on the unpronouncable Aagoo label. This label seems like an interesting one with releases by Casiotone For The Painfully Alone amongst many others. I've heard Verbs a few times and I'm starting to think it's a bit useful. It starts off with a happy clappy chanty African tinged number sounding something like Panda Bear or the Animal Collective being twatted by El Guincho. In fact the whole album is a mish mash of those artists. It's ridiculously happy and lively and it couldn't possibly fail to stick a smile on the most miserable of faces. Loads of choruses of vocals and wierd percussive beats in a big sprawling happy coagulating mess. Well when I say it sounds like a mess I don't mean that in a bad way. There's must so much going on in there you wonder how they fit it all in that's all. A lovely record anyway and deffo a band to watch out for over the coming years I'm sure.
