Various Production and Virus Syndicate have joined forces to vomit up a split dubgrimestep 7" on Planet Moocow. On 'Apollo' the quickfire Mancunian crew spit rhymes all over a spacious dubbed out steppa which is darkly skanking and quite atmospheric, possibly miles better than the forthcoming VS album which sounds a bit scrappy listening to the promo we've got. I especially like the soulful R'n'B chorus drifting over proceedings, it adds a touch of class to a simple yet effective future garage effort that effortlessly busts genres whilst fitting nicely into the current fad for all things shaded in the united colurs of dubstep. 'Neva Argue', however, is a bit of an abrasive mess with stomping macho B-boy tendancies rubbing shoulders with 8-bit burbles and a sneaky flute sample, all subtleties lost in the disorientating carnage. Brett says it's a bit like a "grimey Dalek". Well, how exactly are you supposed to wash egg boxes? They'd just dissolve into paper mache surely?
