The Big Pink have had a bit of hype around them so I imagine there's bound to be a bit of demand for this debut 7" on House Anxiety. The lead track - 'Too Young to Love' - probably isn't about Phil's recent escapades in the local high school but I'm sure it's about something that might be interesting. I'm just making assumptions here, sorry. The main thing about this track is the thumping electronic drums that are very, very high in the mix. The beat isn't particularly interesting and doesn't really go anywhere either, but it's an interesting sound they're going for.. I imagine the brief was to do a harder-hitting 'Soon' by My Bloody Valentine but it doesn't quite come off. Bits of Loop and that in here too as you might expect, particularly in the droney guitar backing and the vocals are all reverbed up to score maximum shoegaze points. Can't make my my up about this one but it's definitely not bad...
