5475 Days is probably about the amount of time I've spent reviewing drone releases since I started working here so it was thoughtful of Skink to name his 7-track EP in tribute to my work. What we've got here is high-pitched droning, low frequency droning, a fair bit of howling and a sprinkling of static giving the impression of some sort of peaceful apocalyptic wasteland after bad old mankind has been wiped out by a giant meteorite made of radios that we jettisoned into space because we were running out of room for all our bloody rubbish. We get a fair bit of drone stuff in here, most likely because it doesn't require that much effort to make something that sounds half-decent, but this is one of the best ones I've heard in a while since it's constantly shifting around, changing up and keeping your attention. Some of it quite reminds me of Gas without the beats.. Good shit. 5475 Days is CD only and on MOMT.
