I had to get up at 4.45am today and it was fucking rubbish. Took me right back to my postman days it did. So the last thing my sleep-deprived brain wants is bouncy, twee indie pop.. Luckily here are the upsettingly named It Hugs Back with their 'Work Day' 7" to provide exactly that. I'm a bit sad that this isn't completely dire because I had notions of saying they should hug a lava pit or Japanese katana factory and see if those fuckers hug them back. Bright, clean C86 guitars with shy, hushed vocals like the guy would burst out crying buying his organic vegetables if the checkout girl dared to talk to him - if he could see her through his long, wonky fringe that is. This is actually pretty good for what it is though, fans of the WeePOP! stuff should be into it although it's nowhere near as lo-fi, it's got posh production and everything!
