For some reason we've sold tons of this Jenny Lewis 7" interestingly titled Carpetbaggers. She sounds exactly like Shania Twain for some reason in this twangy country rock short length. Though when Elvis Costello comes in he sounds like he's being strangled.... I don't think it's his best singing but I strangely quite like it when he kicks in just cos it sounds so wrong. It brings a smile to myself every time. White vinyl only and we've not got too many so get one and put a smile on your face.

This humdinger of a single is a real treat. Besides two great songs the packaging of the 7" vinyl is of vast interest to Costello nerds like me. The description of the Costello b-side, Go Away, as being by 'Jenny Lewis and Her Sound' is a nod to a Nick Lowe single , American Squirm (Radar ada26), from 30 years ago. It's b-side , '(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace Love and Understanding' , was described as being by 'Nick Lowe and His Sound'. Guess what - it was really by Elvis Costello and The Attractions. Examine the sleeve of the Radar single and Elvis can be seen hidden in a detail. So far I can't see him in the Lewis sleeve - but what's that to the left of Jenny....two blobs, spectacle frames maybe........hours of fun!
