Tea. It's one of our favourite things in the world here at the towers. Except Brett who sneers sardonically at anything less than roasting hot black coffee. Did you know you could get coffee enemas? Janet Jackson had one once. I'd like a tea enema! Bet that clears you out proper good. In the meantime, I'll just have to make do with this tea themed various artists compilation from those busy Static Caravan types called 'Teaism'. It's 15 tracks of prime tea inspired folk, experimental & electronic beauty. Max De Wardener gets a chuffing kettle vibe going on with his 'Kettle Song', The Break Ups get trippy and mystical with the magic carpet ambient ride that is 'Assam'! The curator of this glorious concept is Inch-Time & he himself proffers the crystalline meditation of 'Snow Jewel' which slowly eases through miles of chiming beauty to reach a sweet electronic Zen clearing before vanishing into thin air! One of the nicest things I've heard him do! There's some really chilled electronic diversity here with the onus being on premium relaxation before we reach the Tunng track which has a big thumping tribal drum and a disembodied electronic female voice to add to their usual tranced-out pastoral folktronik pagan thang. It's a total Tunng classic as far as I can tell (it really couldn't be anyone else!) and it's simply called 'Shove It!' A dusty jazz interlude is most welcome, courtesy of root70, then later there's key tracks by Dollboy (chilled folk shapes with cute glitches) & Xela (unnerving Eastern flecked dark ambience like Himalayan clank-drone?). Overall this sounds like a most refreshing collection of exclusives that becomes much like a journey in search of tranquility & inner peace with some of our most revered fringe artists in tow. Anyone that likes tea & experimental music should love this to pieces. If you just like the tunes then don't feel left out, have a beer instead! Much love to Staefan Panczak for overseeing this, housed in simple recycled card package with tasty minimal line drawings art!
