This got played a couple of weeks back to a generally horrified reaction amongst the denizens of Norman Records. Personally I quite like it but it's not hard to see why it might drive someone spare. A year or so back he resurrected the Profan label for the 'Freiland Kalviermusik' 12" and unsurprisingly this is a more fleshed-out version of what was heard on that release, the atonal sounds of a piano mangled into beatscapes that make me think of a pissed up Arnold Schonberg going out clubbing in his dreams. It's clearly a bit off it's tits and one you'd definitely have to be in the right mood for but the quality you'd expect from Voigt is undoubtedly there and, if nothing else, you've got to applaud him for such a brave new direction at this point in his hugely celebrated career.
