Over the years we've had lots of releases by Tom Carter, limited edition CD's mostly. So to get some vinyl is a fairly rare treat. Important Records true to their ways always put out a high quality product both in terms of packaging and high grade vinyl. Their thing at the moment seems to be putting out LP's by artists with an entirely different CD album to accompany it but made available separately. In this case it's 'Shots At Infinity 1'. Carter is probably most associated with Charalambides although he's also been in tons of projects including Sarin Smoke, Spiderwebs and Badgerlore (great name!). We're currently playing his 'Shots At Infinity 2' wax and appreciating what a talented guitarist he is. The man really injects his spirit into those strings. The sound is raw and kinda introverted with bursts of psychedelic twiddles. The thing weeps over layers of effects and distortion but occasionally gets a bit too prog/ widdly for my personal tastes. Still a most worthy listen.
