Kong. I imagine this 7" on White Drugs/ Brew Records to be a big, shaggy aeroplane punching, tragic femme munching, socially erm...troublesome sorta record. I'm actually pretty on the mark with that one. 'Blood of a Dove' harks back to the days when post hardcore and yank rock was scratchy & discordant like barbed wire, clanging along like a toppling field full of oil drums and warped like a serious drugface's perception of reality. It's a wonky, grizzly beast with some nice loose maths-y touches and no steady tune as such, just loads of belligerent off-kilter riffing, tumbling, banging & cascading jazzcore drums, meaty & gruff bass strides & a vocalist who needs some strepsils action, soonish like.... A great single with attitude that I'd have bought gleefully 15 years ago but it's up to the new generation of Chicago-esque noise fans to embrace this for it's a mighty slice of bent audio!
