1 review | 4 people love this record: be the 5th! Air Cav come to give me some Mancunian slaver with their 2nd waxing 'Embers' / 'Picking at the Bones' & they sure sound well Manc. The guitars chime & ching in a stern yet melodic fashion, the drums are solid & motorik & the vocals are cut of that Northern yelp/wail cloth. Oh, and they've got a wonderful folk violinist called Sophie who adds some rootsy authenticity to proceedings. ... »

8/10 Brian Staff review, 11 July 2008
Air Cav come to give me some Mancunian slaver with their 2nd waxing 'Embers' / 'Picking at the Bones' & they sure sound well Manc. The guitars chime & ching in a stern yet melodic fashion, the drums are solid & motorik & the vocals are cut of that Northern yelp/wail cloth. Oh, and they've got a wonderful folk violinist called Sophie who adds some rootsy authenticity to proceedings. They've all the hallmarks of a great Manchester act, the guitars are reminiscent of the Chameleons and many other mid 80's overcoat sporting gangs. There's an earthy sensibility to it all and the violin really adds a distinctive flavour although it's not as piledriving as King of the Slums' electric ear shredder all those years back! Ltd 7"/etched 10" & cloth bagged CDs! (Be quick cos I reckon these are gonna make some real headway soon!)
