And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out by Yo La Tengo

Reissue of Yo La Tengo’s ninth studio LP here courtesy of Matador. 2000’s And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out remains one of the band’s strongest performances this Century. It marked a change in Yo La Tengo's style, with many of the songs here generally slower and more contemplative than on previous releases. The dreamy haze that blankets tracks like ‘Our Way To Fall’ is almost Lynchian. Come the end of the 2000’s And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out showed up on several ‘Best Of The Decade’ lists.

If there was ever an album to listen to while taking a night time stroll around your neighbourhood – this is it.

Yo La Tengo's 2000 release 'And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out' is a one hour and seventeen minute journey into the dreamy soundscape of the New Jersey band's world. From darker moments like the opening track 'Everyday', right through to clangy pop sounds of 'You Can Have It All' this is a record that begs to be enjoyed in it's entirety. 'Last Days of Disco' is one incredible highlight that you'll find along the way.

Somber and reflective, this is a truly beautiful record.
