Charlemagne Palestine & John K├Ârmeling

An intriguing collaboration between architect John Körmeling and avant-garde musician Charlemagne Palestine, Frogsichord is a fascinating attempt to rehabilitate the reputation of the harpsichord, by re-imagining it and applying it to a newly thought-out system of tuning and music, one which abandons Western orthodoxies almost entirely.

Crack Cloud
Pain Olympics

Crack Cloud are an anarchic Canadian crew who stop just short of being a Psychic TV-like collective. They make a sometimes joyous, sometimes frightening racket on their first proper LP 'Pain Olympics'. Musically the album runs with Crack Cloud's driving, driven, Krautrock-tinged post-punk melee while the lyrics tackle the group's experiences with addiction and recovery. Devo, Gang Gang Dance and Berlin-era Bowie are some of the acts referenced across this strangely life-affirming LP.

Popular electronic music duo Disclosure return with a new 5 track 12" which helps them celebrate 10 years in the biz despite them both still only being in their mid 20s. Lead track Ecstasy already sounds like a hit with its cut up disco and soul samples and thumping kick drums. The four other tracks here have been teased already on various mainstream media so this should be another big seller for the lads.

Everything Everything

For their fifth studio album, the eclectic Everything Everything determined to pare down and economise their creative process. Teaming up with indie veteran John Congleton on production, Re-Animator sees the band mark the beginning of their second decade of existence with their most focussed record yet.

Free Nationals
Free Nationals

Free Nationals are the band you would usually see backing Anderson Paak, so you know they’re top notch musicians. They are now striking out on their own with an eponymous album influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, BB King, Al Green and Herbie Hancock. Guests include Anderson Paak, Khadja Bonet, Mac Miller and Unknown Mortal Orchestra and more.

Subject F (Transcendence)

NYC's master of fathoms deep techno Function aka David Sumner lands on Rrose's ever-dependable Eaux label. Rrose and Function have a shared history in Sandwell District and Rrose released a record on Sumner's Infrastructure New York label, so this record kinda completes the circle. 'Binaural' is the perfect tool to transcend in a fog of dry ice and strobe lights at 4:00 am. 'Desire and Memory' is equally, if not more potent and will surely soundtrack those perfect dancefloor moments of communal hypnosis.

Gabor Lazar

Dancefloor experimentalist (with the emphasis very much on ‘mentalist’) Gábor Lázár arrives on Planet Mu with his latest studio album, Source. It sounds like the work of an artist who’s always concentrated on the future taking a minute to revisit his influences and first loves, and the results sound absolutely amazing in clubs.

Girl Friday
Androgynous Mary

Post-punk and noise rock combine on Androgynous Mary, the debut album from Los Angeles-based quartet Girl Friday. Taking cues from the likes of veterans like Sonic Youth and Sleater-Kinney to modern-day acts like Dream Wife, their complex songs deal with the reality of being young and marginalised in today’s society.

Neil Young

It's fair to say that a few Neil Young fans have been waiting a very long time for this. Homegrown was originally supposed to be released in 1975. For some reason, that never happened. This is a 12 track album including 7 songs that have never been released in any form and 5 songs whose alternate versions have appeared on other albums. It features musicians such as Levon Helm and Robbie Robertson of The Band, Emmylou Harris and more.

Pye Corner Audio
Where Things Are Hollow 2

Having been musically active for a decade at this point, Martin Jenkins follows up his 2017 Pye Corner Audio EP Where Things Are Hollow with a direct successor. Consisting of three brand new tracks and a John Talabot remix of ‘Resist’, Where Things Are Hollow 2 nearly straddles Jenkins’ two main modus operandi - dreamy ambient textures and loose, limbre dance music.

Run The Jewels

They’re back! At long last, El-P and Killer Mike reveal their fourth eponymous Run The Jewels album. Informed by political activism and featuring a stellar guest cast including Pharrell Williams, Mavis Staples, Zack de la Rocha, Josh Homme and DJ Premier, RTJ4 is as clipped and economical as you remember them, with the most electrifying elements amped up.

Silverbacks are a five piece out of Dublin who are chomping at the bit to follow fellow Dublin City dwellers Fontaines DC out of the place and into the mainstream. They are influenced by '70s punk and American no-wave with nods to Pavement, the Fall and Blondie. It's produced by Daniel Fox of Girl Band who they have supported on a string of sold out tour dates.

Stephen Mallinder
Pow Wow

A deluxe, expanded re-issue on vinyl for Pow Wow, the debut solo album from Cabaret Voltaire member Stephen Mallinder. Originally released in 1982, it’s an essential look at one of the people behind one of Britain’s most icon(oclast)ic bands - particularly as Mallinder wouldn’t release any more solo material until 2019! Vinyl edition includes 12”x24” folded poster/insert, featuring unused elements from sleeve designer Neville Brody’s artwork.

The Jayhawks

The Jayhawks are a long running Twin Cities band whose blend of country rock and power pop should have seen them a little less under the radar than they have been. Still, their cult following will be delighted at this new album of originals which, rather than jump off at new tangents, just sharpens up their songwriting and creates another example of the Jayhawks doing what the Jayhawks do best.
