On Boomiverse collaboration is key, and features works with Adam Levine, Killer Mike, Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Kurupt, Eric Bellinger, Sleepy Brown and CeeLo. Billie Marten
Milk & Honey

Nice ethereal acoustic twiddlings from silky-voiced Ripon-based songstress Isabella Sophie Tweddle, aka Billie Marten. A Youtube sensation at the age of 12, Marten is now getting some serious attention, including a nomination for BBC Sound of 2016. And she's still only 17. According to her Wikipedia page she is, apparently, obsessed with alpacas. Interesting, but there's no mention of any llama-like shenanigans on 'Milk and Honey'.

Feels Like

Bully are a group who make punk’n’grunge tinged rock music, and do so from a base in Nashville. They do their thing fairly effectively, with the requisite amount of grit in singer Alice Bognanno’s voice, and suitable amounts of fast-paced guitar business. You know how it goes. All self-produced too. Mmmmm. On Columbia.

First Aid Kit
Tender Offerings

Tender Offerings by First Aid Kit is an EP featuring four tracks recorded during the Swedish sister duo’s fourth album, Ruins which was released in January 2018. These outtakes weren’t deemed album worthy, but they sure do make a nice little EP on their own. 10” vinyl EP on Columbia.

Loose Tapestries

Loose Tapestries is the name of the collaboration between Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno and comedian Noel Fielding. N.H.S. includes barmy songs created for the second series of Fielding’s equally mental tv comedy show, Luxury Comedy. There was a previous release from Loose Tapestries which now goes for big bucks on ebay so don’t hang around here. The songs, whilst bizarre and comical has some solid synth work and great instrumentation and moves through musical styles with ease.

Manic Street Preachers
A Design For Life

The Manics' sombre rawk classic 'Everything Must Go' saw the band a little more streamlined and far less lyrically provocative, and 20 years on it fits quite neatly into an alt rock canon that could include 'The Bends' and 'Melancholie'. To celebrate this momentous anniversary thing, here's an EP 12" of single "A Design For Life", a song which involves some emotive growling and indisputably enjoyable riffs. Okay, maybe it's disputable. We can dispute. Comes with a Stealth Sonic Orchestra remix and a couple of other tracks ("Dead Trees and Traffic Islands"; "Mr Carbohydrate").

Raising Hell (picture disc)

Raising Hell is thirty years old. It was the third album by New York hip-hop trio Run DMC. The album was a commercial breakthrough, not only for Run DMC, but for hip hop in general. It contains some of Run DMC’s best known singles: Walk This Way, My Adidas and It’s Tricky. Pressed on to 150gm picture disc.

Deadpool 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

You know that bit in The Simpsons where Nelson laughs at the tall man in the small car, and then the man pulls Nelson’s trousers down and makes him march down the street while shouting to the crowd ‘hey look, it’s that boy who laughs at everyone! Let’s laugh at him!’? Well, that same phrase comes into my head any time I come across anything to do with Marvel’s ‘comedy superhero’ Deadpool. The fact that I haven’t seen either of the Deadpool movies either says something about me or him, but I’m not sure what that is yet. Anyway, here’s a recording of the score, which was penned by John Wick composer and Marilyn Manson guitarist Tyler Bates.
