Movement - Definitive Edition

It's probably about time we celebrated properly the very early clankings of New Order. The metamorphosis from Joy Division was a difficult one for the group but this fascinating era contains some of their most powerful and overlooked music. Now you can get a box set containing the original album plus a CD full of rarities, demos and rehearsal takes, a DVD of of-the-era performances and a 48 page hardback book.

New Order
Ceremony (Version 1)

This was the record that could have perhaps been the next Joy Division single. ceremony was originally recorded in March 1981 by the surviving Joy Division members with guitarist Bernard Sumner taking over on vocal duties from the late Ian Curtis. The track was eventually re-recorded with the new line up featuring Gillian Gilbert but this is the original and most Joy Division sounding version.

New Order
Ceremony (Version 2)

'Ceremony' was the first song New Order recorded following the tragic demise of Joy Division. Strangely, they recorded and released it twice. The original featured just the surviving Joy Division members, whilst the second recording was made with new member Gillian Gilbert. This is the re-recording. B side 'In A Lonely Place' was also slightly remixed for this 12" which was originally released in 1981.
