Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche
Pas pire pop, I Love You So Much

Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche want to play! Their new album Pas pire pop, I Love You So Much is a vibrant brew of ecstatic dance rock via psychedelic deserts: wordless vocals, sharp and clean guitars, irresistibly flowing rhythms. Properly trance-inducing stuff. The album is released by Constellation: the vinyl version includes a poster and a download code.

Do Make Say Think
Stubborn Persistent Illusions

The first album in eight years from this long running Toronto collective. Now in their third decade, the group have created a critically acclaimed back catalogue and have become one of the most venerated names in the post rock canon. Stubborn Persistent Illusions is another example of the bands DIY ethos all recorded and produced themselves balancing guitar based compositions with electronic influenced production.

Esmerine
Mechanics Of Dominion

Esmerine are one of the finest of the several acts that have grown out of the peripheries of godspeed you! black emperor. New album Mechanics Of Dominion is a diverse collection, with marimbas, amplified music boxes and horns all appearing in both brand new recordings and unheard material restored from the archives. Released by Constellations in CD and lovely LP-with-art-prints editions.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Luciferian Towers

Post-rock collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor return to another world phase of political turmoil and humanitarian crisis, with a record of their usual oblique serenade. Following the format of the two records of their modern era, it features four songs in sum and continues to rebrand them as God's Pee (make it happen). Luciferian Towers is inspired by a long list of inequalities -- "an end to foreign invasions, borders, the dismantling of the prison-industrial complex, healthcare" -- and will likely factor in as much quiet meditation as it does grandiose rock action.

Jessica Moss
Pools Of Light

Jessica Moss is a key member of Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, contributing remarkable string parts to the whole. With Pools Of Light she steps out as a solo artist. The album, her first full-length solo statement, was recorded by Radwan Ghazi Moumneh of Jerusalem In My Heart, and it positively shimmers with Moss’s rich violin drones and careful composition. Out on Constellation.

Joni Void
Selfless

Joni Void has already been through several artistic stages, despite his young age. After a whirl of self-released material, Selfless is the project’s first label-released album, and it is made entirely out of micro-samples, carefully sourced and then re-processed musique concrete style into the catchy, sometimes groovy pieces you hear here. Out on Constellation.

Off World
2

Off World got off to a flying start last year with I, a record released as part of a trilogy of electronic works on Constellation echoing back to their Musique Fragile Series. Featuring avant-folk artist Sandro Perri, the group's record offered beguiling instrumental twists that sounded like vintage coming back to life; the roster appears to have changed here, Perri joined by the likes of labelmate Eric Chenaux as well as Matthew Cooper, Susumu Mukai and others.

Saltland
A Common Truth

Saltland is Rebecca Foon, a core cello-playing member of Esmerine and Thee Silver Mount Zion. This epic solo album builds up luscious walls of strings and vocals over the course of four long tracks that take the most interesting and beautiful parts of post-rock and apply them to a non-guitar framework. A Common Truth also features Warren Ellis! On Constellation.

Those Who Walk Away
The Infected Mass

Those Who Walk Away is a contemporary music project helmed by composer Matthew Patton, also incorporating members of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. New piece The Infected Mass mixes classical instrumentation with sinister drones and, remarkably, recordings from the black boxes of aircraft in distress, which certainly makes this a powerful listen. Released by Constellation.
