A Giant Dog
Toy

The fourth full length record from A Giant Dog entitled Toy. A solid mix of indie-rock and percussion pop that combines nicely with joint male and female lead vocals. The band continuously refuses to lose any of its charm and spontaneity that has kept the fire burning oh so bright. Available on vinyl LP and CD.

AnD
Social Decay

Manchester based techno producers Andre Bowen and Dimitri Poumplidis return for their second full length album as AnD. Digging deeper into the industrial heritage of Manchester, on social Decay they push their techno productions further into noise and industrial territories. Triple LP on Electric Deluxe.

Andrew Hung
Realisationship

Andrew Hung of Fuck Buttons has been comparatively quiet compared to Blanck Mass, but he has been readying his debut album Realisationship. A step away from the heavy distortion and straight pounding of Fuck Button it takes a lean toward Bayonne’s percussion and dreamy pop with a little bit of Damon Albarn. Features his vocal debut.

Angele David-Guillou
En Mouvement

Angele David-Guillou is a French composer who has previously worked under the name Klima and as part of Piano Magic. This is her second album under her birth name and is an album of modern composition that references the music of Moondog and Philip Glass taking this listener on a creative musical journey.

Catherine Wheel
Chrome

'90s shoegazers Catherine Wheel were one of the few shoegazers to truly cross over to the American market. They did this by simply rocking out. 'Chrome' showcases them rockifying their previously dreamy sound with heavy big riffing guitars, growly impassioned vocals and thumping drums. Here's your chance to hear it all again.

Chris Forsyth & The Solar Motel Band
Dreaming In The Non-Dream

The press release for this is almost as long as Chris Forsyth's last album. I see the words Pere Ubu, Neu and Roxy Music in there so I'm assuming this next opus contains moments of '70s art rock amongst the blistering solo's and heat hazed Americana that he produced on earlier work. Prolific though isn't he?

Delia Derbyshire / Brian Hodgson / David Vorhaus
Electronic

This will be of fascination to fans of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop as it is a 1969 collaboration between two of their best and brightest and American musician David Vorhaus with whom they then went on to form the ridiculous experimental electronic band White Noise. These tracks were intended as TV production music and many were used on cult 60's programme 'The Tomorrow People'.

Emiliana Torrini
Fisherman's Woman

A welcome reissue on vinyl of the tender yet powerful Fisherman's Woman by Emiliana Torrini. In 2005 this sumptuous collection of twelve heart-melting songs followed an optimistic, electronic trip-hop opus some six years before. Emiliana since found herself in contemplative mood with textures closer to Nick Drake or Jolie Holland. It's still astonishing to think she collaborated with Kylie Minogue. LP on Rough Trade.

ESG
Keep On Moving

ESG have reissued a new wave funk compilation of nine tracks entitled Keep On Moving. Described as being the product of a studio that was left to run itself, this record is the all consuming sound of the techno dance floor. Solid beats and slightly distorted cymbal sounds compliment the youthful vocals in this release. Available on blue vinyl LP, black vinyl LP and CD.

Fink
Resurgam

The long-awaited release from Fink comes in the form of Resurgam. UK born but Berlin based band Fink give a much more mature and relaxed sound to this record, that must surely take some influence from the likes of Newton Faulkner and even Radiohead. This record is available on Double LP and CD and released on 'R'COUP'D'.

Geinoh Yamashirogumi
Akira: Symphonic Suite

Based on his 1982 manga, Katsuhiro Otomo's seminal anime 'Akira' is a Japanese science fiction classic. It's cult status among anime fans only rivalled by Ghost In The Shell. Geinoh Yamashirogumi's dramatic Symphoinc Suite was key to the films epic futuristic aesthetic and has been out of print on vinyl for many years. Now Milan present an official reissue on CD and 180g double vinyl in gatefold sleeve, cut with pristine audio to produce a “hypersonic effect” on the listener. Nerds and Cyberpunks rejoice!

Giant Sand
The Sun Set Vol. 1

Howe Gelb’s highly-regarded Giant Sand project is wrapping up after 3 decades of loyal service to Americana and alternative country. Consequently, the whole album catalogue is being reissued over 3 big box-sets, divided alphabetically rather than chronologically. So The Sun Set Vol. 1 gives you 6 albums from all across the Giant Sand career, split over 8 vinyl records with elaborate liner notes. On Fire.

Gold Class
Drum

A record built on heartbreak, on the feelings left behind and on the sofa in the house of a friend of a friend. Drum is the ten-track record from Gold Class. The release highlights the struggle that we go through in the time of relationship breakups with hints of Morrissey-esque vocals throughout. Available on limited edition white vinyl LP and CD.

Hanne Hukkelberg
Trust

Trust is the long awaited fifth album from Nordic electronic sound artist Hanne Hukkelberg. A nine-track collection of fine easy listening dance tracks that almost sound like they could be on in some indie dance club somewhere in the world. Hukkelberg’s vocals are, once again, on point on this release by ‘Propeller Recordings’ and is available on Vinyl LP and CD.

Hiss Golden Messenger
Hallelujah Anyhow

Imagine having the self confidence to have that as your album sleeve. MC Taylor certainly isn't lacking in a belief in his own ability something that must have been even further boosted when David Bowie once said he liked him. This new album is a rather quick follow up to 'Heart Like a Levee' and comes with his own impenetrable sleeve notes. Check press release to see if you can make head nor tail.

Hype Williams
Rainbow Edition

After several years off pursuing their own projects, Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland are back with a new album as Hype Williams. Except they aren't, as the press release reckons neither of them are involved. Or are they? The woozy, disjointed music they previously concocted has spawned lots of imitators but now we get the real thing. Or do we?

Julie Doiron
Julie Doiron Canta en Español Vol. II

With an album count of twelve, Julie Doiron has well established herself as a solid part of the singer songwriter crew. This seven-track release contains some of the most relaxed and chilled guitars that Doiron has put on her albums to date. Combine this with her soft vocals in spanish and you’ve got a winning record. Julie Doiron Canta en Español Vol. II is available on Vinyl 10”.

Kamasi Washington
Harmony of Difference

The first new music from cosmic jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington since his much lauded 'The Epic'. This follow up also seems to be epic despite it's short length being a six part suite exploring the musical technique known as 'counterpoint'. There are 5 unique components which when blended create a sixth track. Clever lad.

Laraaji
Bring On The Sun

A brand new selection of new studio recordings from celestial mood master Laraaji. From blissed-out jams to vocal hymns to trance-like drones this runs the the whole spectrum of his unique oeuvre. Recorded by Davey Jewell (Peaking Lights/Flaming Lips) this will be a must add to the collection of his long running series of unique creations. CD contains the previous vinyl only 'Sun Gong'.

Lost Horizons
Ojala

Despite having a sleeve which looks like a black metal opus, Lost Horizons is the new project of Simon Raymonde once of Cocteau Twins now of Bella Union. He's teamed up here with former Dif Juz drummer Richie Thomas. Guests are aplenty including Marissa Nadler Ghostpoet and most fascinatingly Karen Peris of the horribly underrated Innocence Mission

My Sad Captains
Sun Bridge

Lustrous dream pop is the name of the game for My Sad Captains who after a line up reshuffle continue to make their vast and expansive music. Though there are elements of kraut rock and psych wibbling in place this promises to be an album for fans of beautifully realised intricate shoegaze and guitar pop.

Papir
V

Copenhagen's Papir are a skilful, youthful three-piece practiced at semi-improvisational psych. V has C Brøchmann on complicated drumming, N Sørensen's fuzz guitar channeling his love of ancient rock and Manuel Göttsching; and C. B. Clausen’s bass covering a wide sound palette. An hypnotic noise recalling Can or electric Miles. Cosmic drones, man. Mixed by John McEntire. 2x 180g LP with download code or double CD format, on Stickman.

Primus
The Desaturating Seven

Funky bass-led alternative rockers Primus return with their ninth studio full length The Desaturating Seven, which sees Tim Alexander back as the drummer, making this their first album together since 1995. Based around a children’s book about goblins it plays out almost like an all funked up version of avant-garde metallers Ved Buens Ende or Virus.

Richard Youngs
This Is Not A Lament

Guest-strewn double album from prolific master of all known forms of experimental music. Richard Youngs drafts in Oren Ambarchi, Simon Wickham-Smith, Neil Campbell, Alasdair Roberts and others for a true opus of improvised sound with each track named after a geographic location only the artists know.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever
Talk Tight

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever's recently released 'The French Press' did rather well for itself so now we have a re-issue of their debut which already showcases their marriage of the laid back pop charm of the Go Betweens with the verbal dexterity of Courtney Barnett. Classic Aussie pop available for the first time worldwide.

Shit & Shine
Some People Really Know How To Live

With releases on Diagonal, Riot Season, Rocket and, Gangsigns, Shit & Shine are shape shifters with no real defined edges. Happily mixing Thrones avantgarde heaviness with Luke Vibert acid and broken breaks. Some People Really Know How To Live continues their degradation of genres, breaking apart disco and techno beats, modulating machinery until it breaks. LP on Editions Mego.

Skinny Puppy
Bites

'Bites' was the second missive from industrial music clatterers Skinny Puppy. They fused all kinds of musics including new wave and film noir with innovative ahead of it's time sampling. This one contains their first underground hit 'Assimilate' and is now available on vinyl for the first time in over 25 years.

Stereophonics
Scream Above The Sounds

Bad news for people who like music in that Stereophonics have a new record out. Better news though for the millions of fans that follow sandpaper-voiced imp Kelly Jones and his merry crew. Expect more examples of catchy-despite-themselves singalong choruses, lyrics seemingly written by a 12 year old and Tesco produced hugely successful landfill indie.

The Cribs
24-7 Rock Star Shit

Feather-haired brothers the Jarmans reconvene following their successful 10 year anniversary tour of 'Mens Needs, Womens Needs, Whatever'. This brand new album has been recorded by none other than Steve Albini and marks a return to the bands roots with some raw and sharp as a tack punk rock stylings.

The Doomed Bird of Providence
Burrowed Into The Soft Sky

The Doomed Bird of Providence is a project devoted to highlighting the darkness of Australian colonial history, and third album Burrowed into the Soft Sky is no exception. It does however break away from the previous two albums by leaving lyrics and vocals by the wayside in favour of two side-long instrumentals, each heavy with the weight of past atrocity. On Front & Follow.

The Fresh & Onlys
Wolf Lie Down

The latest chapter in the ongoing sound world of the Fresh and Only's took them three years to complete but continues the anything goes art punk/ technicolour garage pop of their previous five full length releases. The band is nothing if not multi faceted and here take you on a journey through jangle pop, desert rock and primitive rock and roll.

The Killers
Wonderful Wonderful

Fresh from jamming with Prince Harry, The Killers unleash more of their danceable rock which again is predicted to do well with non music fans. Having successfully forged a career out of having one good song the band now unleash their first new work since 'Battle Born' - an album distinct for being one that no-one can remember.

The Lemon Twigs
Brothers of Destruction

We got into a few arguments with customers about this lot. You love 'em, we find them intensely annoying. Anyway we're in the minority as they are doing pretty well for themselves with their brand of showmanship, music hall and proggy pop. This features an extra six tracks that weren't released on the recent 'Do Hollywood' so like 'em or loathe them you can't complain you are not getting value for money.

The Replacements
For Sale: Live At Maxwell's 1986

Live recording of notorious american rock band The Replacements playing in New Jersey. Over thirty years since the gig this has only been available in low quality bootleg form and the tapes just sat around. Now put straight out on a double vinyl it features tracks from Tim, Let It Be and Hootenanny.

The Rolling Stones
Their Satanic Majesties Request - 50th Anniversary Edition

Following the hullabaloo about the 50th Anniversary edition of the Beatles 'Sgt Pepper's...' we now get a bespoke four disc re-vamp of their great rivals the Rolling Stones similarly ambitious Their Satanic Majesties Request. This was the album in which they experimented with psychedelia, sound effects and unconventional song structures. Bonkers and groundbreaking.

The Smiths
The Queen Is Dead (2017 Master) [Deluxe Edition]

Another magical example of when a single LP gets turned into a 5LP box set. The Smiths 4th best album finally gets the big set treatment with demos, b-sides live tracks and a DVD featuring Derek Jarman's short film made to accompany the original release. A must for all fans of this most special of bands. "Slip them into different sleeves! Buy both, and feel deceived".

They Go Boom!!
Home Electronics : Singles and EPS 1991 - 1997

They Go Boom were a 90's pop duo who combined the Sarah Records-led indie-pop of the time with pulsating synth pop more in tune with early Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys. This collection compiles the music from the five EPs they released during their lifetime and will appeal to fans of home made electronics and resigned sad pop.

Trailer Trash Tracys
Althaea

Drifting from the standard song structure and into a much more experimental and indie sound, Trailer Trash Tracys give us their second full length on Double Six entitled Althaea. A great mix of softly sung vocals and varying genres from Japanese tropical to Latin influenced indie. Available on special edition turquoise vinyl, heavyweight black vinyl and CD.

Ty Segall
Fried Shallots

Being a non Ty Segall fan I am currently saving a whopping £58 per year not buying his endless stream of records. Someone please tell Martin Lewis. However this new 6 track EP from the garage rock rackateer gives its profits to the American Civil Liberties Union -  a charity protecting the civil liberties of people living in a country dictated to by an orange clown.

William Ryan Fritch
Behind The Pale

Clanging dark-hued composer William Ryan Fritch wrote this album around the time he was expecting his first daughter so the album naturally has the air of worried expectancy. This is a powerful music that will appeal to fans of Swans, Godspeed and Jon Mueller the latter of which Fritch collaborated on his similarly scary 'Tongues' album.
