A New Line (Related)
Our Lady Of Perpetual Fucking Succour

A long awaited follow up to the critically acclaimed self titled debut (Dead Albatross nominated no less), this is a four track EP of minimal techno repetition from Andrew Johnson (Hood/Remote Viewer). With roots in the deep dark dub of pioneers such as Terrence Dixon, Johnson has been influenced by recent collaborations with Miles Whittaker (Demdike Stare) and has stripped his sound back to ultra repetitive beats and hypnotic dance floor jams. There are four tracks on the vinyl plus extra remixes on the download (Beppu, Perfume Advert, Maxim Wolzyn, the Humble Bee and Northerner).   **INITIAL COPIES COME WITH BONUS SIGNED POSTCARD**

Black Heart Procession / Solbakken
In The Fishtank

These In The Fishtank collaborative LPs are are on oddity, and this one a bit of a gem. Musically this bears the hallmarks of BHP’s later, (slightly!) more chipper records, with seemingly quite occasional help from not-the-ex-Wolverhampton-Wanderers-manager Solbakken. From the lost age of 2003.

Blanck Mass
No Lite (Genesis Breyer P-Orridge Dreamachine Mix)

Could Benjamin John Power ever have predicted, when starting up Fuck Buttons, that he would ever be remixed by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge? Doubt it. But here it is, Blanck Mass’ No Lite being turned into something new and alien by the Throbbing Gristle founding member herself. One-sided white label on Sacred Bones.

DJ Shadow
Super Deluxe Box Set

Oh boy. There's a lot to this one. Maybe it's best to just run it down chronologically: you get Endtroducing, of course, a masterwork of sampling and hip-hop plunderphonics. You get a bonus, plus The Private Press and each album after it, a disc of rarities -- because why not go deep with an artist who pulls deep from the archives -- and a live performance from Glasgow. This thing is huge; it will eat you. You'll find something you didn't know about DJ Shadow and you'll love it.

Edward Artemiev
Solaris: Music From The Motion Picture By Andrey Tarkovsky

Not the dreadful remake from George Clooney, but the Russian sci-fi arthouse film with an original score from electronic pioneer Edward Artemiev. Long out of print and now back from Mirumir as a re-recording, this album works both as the soundtrack to a fantastic film and as a mysterious entity on it’s own. Vinyl.

Johnny Marr
Adrenalin Baby – Johnny Marr Live

Adrenalin Baby by Johnny Marr is a collection of live recordings from the past three years. The songs come from his two solo albums The Messenger and Playland with the addition of a few classics from his halcyon days with The Smiths and Electronic. Marr’s intentions were to capture on record what happened on stage.

Jorge Elbrecht
Coral Cross - 001

‘Coral Cross - 001’ is the debut release from Jorge Elbrecht (Lansing-Dreiden, Haunted Graffiti, Violens) new metal project. Following his collaborative work with Ariel Pink and Caroline Polachek (Chairlift) this record sees Elbrecht move into new stylistic territories, from the tearing Bay area thrash metal intro A side to the lo fi sounding, depressive and rhythmically broken B side.

Koichi Namiki, Katsuhiro Hayashi and Shigeru Ohwada
Super Hang On

Super excited about this one. Data Discs present the soundtrack to Sega’s legendary Super Hang On arcade game. Dense arpeggios, rapid-fire bleeps and boogie synths helped make the soundtrack highly sought after and the game an iconic 1980s experience. The music from Koichi Namiki, Shigeru Ohwada and Katsuhiro Hayashi has been taken from the arcade soundboard, mastered for 180g vinyl LP and stunningly packaged in heavy card stock.

Kreng
Cooties

School-based horror film Cooties (starring Elijah Wood!) has an adventurous original soundtrack accompanying it, courtesy of Belgian producer Kreng. The drama runs strong through this music, which uses trip-hopping beats, lots of synths, and plenty of strings to create tense atmospheres. It stands up to listening in isolation too. On Death Waltz.

Kurt Cobain
Montage Of Heck: The Home Recordings

Montage of Heck - The Home Recordings is the long awaited soundtrack to the only fully authorised documentary about grunge legend Kurt Cobain. This album contains early home recordings, including snippets of what would become full Nirvana songs, made by Cobain giving an intimate view of his creative process. Available on 31 track vinyl LP and CD.

Lolina (Inga Copeland)
Relaxin' With Lolina

Limited pressing, self-released 3 track CD. Inga Copeland hits again under a different moniker, and away from Hype Williams her experimentation has been boundless. Under the Lolina name she pushes the R’n’B grooves and discordant piano riffs even further than Copeland. Relaxin’ is perhaps an inaccurate title for these, frankly disconcerting pop songs.

Memory Drawings
There Is No Perfect Place

The first 200 copies of the album comes with a bonus CD containing excellent remixes by The Sly and Unseen, Benoit Pioulard, William Ryan Fritch, Pausal, A New Line (Related), and Talvihorros. Memory Drawings consist of American hammered dulcimer player Joel Hanson who alongside Hood's Richard Adams and Lanterns on the Lake's Sarah Kemp to create beguiling instrumental chamber folk music. 'There is No Perfect Place" is their second full length album following the well-received and long sold out 'Music for Another Loss' on Second Language. It continues their infatuation with cinematic textures and 'Straight Story' soundtrack like instrumental vignettes but widens their pallete with kraut-driven opuses like 'The Island of the Day Before' and the gorgeous Talk Talk/Sakamoto piece 'There is a World Without You'.

Motorpsycho
En Konsert For Folk Flest

A special release of Norwegian proggers Motorpsycho and Ståle together with Kammerkoret Aurum and Sheriffs Of Nothingness performing the commissioned work En Konsert For Folk Flest in the Nidarosdomen cathedral of Trondheim. Featuring a 24-piece choir this is a mighty piece captured and released here in this deluxe set. Out on Deluxe gatefold 180g vinyl 2LP + DVD + CD on Rune Grammofon.

Neil Campbell & Robert Horton

Neil Young
A Letter Home

On 'A Letter Home', Young retreats into his folk traditions after a couple of years incorporating drone, psychedelia and noise into his records and live sets. This record was recorded at Jack White's Third Man studio, in the kind of pay-per-use recording booth you would've found way back in the day. Young stepped in and recorded these covers of folk standards, only using his guitar and the occasional piano accompaniment from White. Among the covers are Tim Hardin's "Reason to Believe", Bob Dylan's "Girl from the North Country" and the good old "On the Road Again". 'A Letter Home' is interspersed with Young reading out a letter he's written to his late mother. Bless you, Neil.

PAUW
Macrocosm Microcosm

PAUW are a trio of Netherlanders, who mix two different styles of psychedelic music very capably. That is to say, they have both the gnarly wildness of modern psych-rock and, more intriguingly, the whimsy and oddness of 60’s psychedelia. Macrocosm Microcosm is their debut full-length, out on Caroline Benelux.

Peter Buck
Warzone Earth

Former REM man Peter Buck has always kept busy with side-projects, and this solo LP is his third under his own name. Warzone Earth is a straight-up rock record, on which Buck brings in a stack of famous friends: Kris Novoselic and Jeff Tweedy (of Nirvana and Wilco respectively) to name just two. LP on Mississippi Records.

Public Service Broadcasting
Sputnik / Korolev

Everyone’s favourite modern history sample duo, Public Service Broadcasting are back with a new EP, Sputnik/Korolev. Sputnik is taken from their successful second album, The Race For Space. Korolev is a brand new track, propulsive and built around a muscular riff. On CD and 12” Vinyl both formats feature remixes by Blond:ish, Petar Dundov, Eagles & Butterflies and Plugger.

Ricked Wicky
I Sell The Circus

Robert Pollard is an indefatigably prolific artist, writing indie pop songs that make 99% of other songwriters jealous. Now that his main band, the legendary Guided By Voices have decided to call it a day, for a second time, Pollard has a new band, Ricked Wicky. Pollard describes the band as a “Sophisticated arena band”. I Sell The Circus is available on CD.

Stephen John Kalinich
A World Of Peace Must Come

Oddball 1960's poetry record from renowned Beach Boys lyricist performing some of his very own super idealistic poetry under hazy lights. If you like spoken word stuff about world peace etc then A World of Peace Must Come is the record for you. The main draw for Beach Boys completists is that it is produced by affable harmoniser Brian Wilson who also adds some of his unique sound sorcery and proto ambient twiddles to the mix.

The Heads
Nobody Knows

Re-issue culture reaches new and confusing heights with this issue of rehearsal tracks found by members of The Heads when they were putting together the bonus tracks for their 'Everybody Knows We Got Nowhere' re-issue. So, effectively this is bonus stuff from the bonus tracks..... we think. In any case The Heads records usually beat a path out of our office at an alarming rate of knots so don't expect this to hang around too long.

The Jesus & Mary Chain
Barbed Wire Kisses (B-Sides and More)

Timely vinyl reissue of a 1988 early singles, b-sides and rarities compilation by seminal indie rock provocateurs, The Jesus and Mary Chain. Showcasing the many sides of the band with trashy pop, sultry surf, moody acoustic numbers and searing walls of noise- a great introduction to the band and a must have for devotees.

Tim Hecker
Norberg / Apondalifa

Room40, the Australian experimental label run by Lawrence English, has just ticked over to its fifteenth year of operation. To celebrate, they are re-pressing a number of works that have slipped out of print, such as Apondalifa by Tim Hecker. First released as a 7” many years ago, this heavy drone-swarm is now paired with Norberg on a 12” LP.

Various
Parallelogram

A deluxe vinyl LP boxset of harsh and angular guitar music released to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of Three Lobed Recordings. The label, who specialise in experimental post-punk and screeching art-rock, have collected five albums of incredible never before released material. Parallelogram includes music from Kurt Vile, Thurston Moore and Yo La Tengo.
