Having started out busking on the London Underground, the sort of mass transit solution Leeds is desperate for, Ten Fé have now released their second album, Future Perfect, Present Tense. A collection of songs that are simple and sweet, open hearted with pretty harmonies. Influenced by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The Cure and Roy Orbison.
Ten Fé are a smooth outfit who carefully cut together indie rock aesthetics with electronic grooves. The band’s album was produced by Ewan Pearson, who knows the Ten Fé sound so well that he was asked to remix Turn into an up-and-bouncing house number. 7” single on Some Kinda Love.
Sounding like Bruce Springsteen overdubbed an M83 record, Ten Fé are ridiculously appealing. Once you hear the first synthesized notes on single Overflow, you can picture yourself riding across the American deserts in an 80s convertible - but also somehow in the future. Hit the Lights is the duo’s highly-anticipated debut album, and we’re eager to see whether they’ll live up to our expectations.
