Chante Amour / Straight Girl
Would You / Limon

Come Play With Me pairs up two rising stars from Leeds on their latest 7” single release - R&B artist Chanté Amour offers up her new track ‘Would You’ and we also get a new electro-punk barnburner from Straight Girl (f.k.a. NALA) titled ‘Limon’. Both were selected as part of the label’s new Women In Music Call Out programme.

The Wedding Present & Friends
Not From Where I'm Standing

Originating from a casual noodling of the theme to ‘You Only Live Twice’ during a soundcheck in 2013, indie-rock legends The Wedding Present now rope in a huge number of close allies and former members in order to cover twenty Bond theme songs for ‘Not From Where I’m Standing’. All proceeds go to the ‘Campaign Against Living Miserably’ (CALM) charity.

Come Stay With Me

Come Stay With Me is a compilation from the people at the Come Play With Me label exposing thirteen artists they've either released records by or would like to. They keep their net local, fishing around for artists in the Leeds district and here introduce the likes of Jasmine, Van Houten, Her Titled Moons and Household Dogs. I've heard on none of them which I suppose is a good thing on a compilation such as this.

Sea Legs / Dense
Favourite Doll / Fever Dream

Come Play With Me have long been releasing split 7"s by some of Leeds and districts best and most undervalued bands. This latest release by Sea Legs and Dense has been chosen from over 100 bands by a committee who sat at a panel at the Live at Leeds conference.  Have they made the correct choice? Buy to find out. Plus points go to whoever put the pylon on the Dense sleeve. Nice touch.

Faux Pas / Uncle Buzzard
That's My Ego / Big Cat

The new singles by Manchester-based indie punks Faux Pas and Leeds-based psych-po 5-piece Uncle Buzzard, come together as a double A-sided 7”. That’s My Ego shows Faux Pas maturing as songwriters as they discuss the pursuit of perfection, whilst Big Cat sees Uncle Buzzard’s shimmering sound shrouding some heavy subject matter.
