Bear Bones, Lay Low / Don't DJ
Plafond 3

After two entries that have seen contributions from Legowelt and Milan W., the third record in BAKK’s Plafond series hosts new work from Don’t DJ and Bear Bones, Lay Low. Both of the jams here take up a full-side, and the artists luxuriate in the length of their pieces. While the latter's collaboration has yielded a psychedelic, New Age-y electronic odyssey in ‘Dissolve Into The Night’, Don’t DJ’s ‘Rag For Rudolf Rocker’ is a tense anti-groove that could be a soundtrack to a piece of contemporary dance.

SFV Acid
818 Extracts

The downtempo groove that persists over this record is gifted a ethereal sunshine glimmer with colour-splash keys and winding synth leads. To stop it floating away entirely though, acid lines carve a mutant funk path through the centre, whilst chunky drums are tasked with keeping feet and hips busy.

Dark Days

Dutch electronic musician Danny Wolfers has been performing, recording and remixing under the name Legowelt (along with a number of other aliases) since the early 1990s. Dark Days is a collection of tracks from his early days recorded between 1992 and 1997. Dark Days is a mix of ambience, understated beats and beeps This is one for the short days and the long, dark nights. BAKK have pressed Dark Days on three slabs of 155gm vinyl for your listening pleasure.

Laundromat of Your Mind

Laundromat Of Your Mind is a title that simultaneously suggests the everyday and conjures psychic wonder. That is pretty much the vibe of these four new tracks from Legowelt, who pulls the listener out of a pulsing 4/4 daze with disorientating synth runs and cosmic production touches. 12” on Bakk.
