Kutiman
Saluf / Badawee

Following a highly productive 2019, the legendary Kutiman kicks off the new decade with a new 7” vinyl single housing two desert-funk gems. Leading it is ‘Saluf’, already a live favourite for fans and which has been captured on disc for the first time, along with a brand new, more chilled out offering ‘Badawee’.

Kutiman
Sakla Beni (featuring Melike Sahin)

Kutiman’s new single ‘Sakla Beni’ is a collaboration with Turkish singer Melike ┼×ahin. This track is a righteous bit of psychedelic neo-soul, one that mixes together a thick fuzz-funk bassline, slow stomp of a groove and Anatolian rock production. The end result is not unlike those Khruangbin fellows everyone gets so excited about. The ‘Sakla Beni’ 7” comes backed with the ‘karaoke’ version.

Don't Hold Onto the Clouds

The multi-talented Kutiman drops a new full-length via his own Siyal Music imprint. Don’t Hold Onto the Clouds is, in the producer/instrumentalist/label-owner/animator’s own words, a record that helps him fall asleep. We can see why that’s the case - the four lengthy entries here are languid things that recall, among others, Moondog and Alice Coltrane. There’s also a clear influence of Indian classical music. It’s a dreamy LP for sure.

Kutiman
6am

Kutiman does all sorts, having worked internationally with art institutions and youtube collages for years. Here he returns to recorded music, with what quickly proves to be a highly energised global groove party: 6AM has afro-funk rhythms and free-jazz tone blasts, plus all sorts of psychedelic sound detritus. It’s a colourful listen! On Siyal Music.
