Ternesc Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have a full-length from Blawan. Techno’s Prince of Darkness delivers Wet Will Always Dry, an eight-track LP, via his own TERNESC imprint. Probably the most noteworthy artistic development here is that Blawan has started singing, with his eerie vocals cropping up on ‘Stell’ and ‘Careless’. But don’t fret, he’s not abandoning his principles - many of the tracks here still sound like they have been designed to be dropped at Cthulhu’s birthday party.

By Blawan’s standards, this double EP is a laid-back affair. By Blawan’s standards, that is. So even though there’s nothing here which sounds specifically like a portal to Cthulhu’s lair is about to open up where your record player is, Nutrition still contains six cuts of pummelling techno. ‘993’ and ‘Calcium Red’ are about as close as he gets to the sound of ‘Why They Hide The Bodies…’ etc, while ‘Trampelpfad’ and ‘Mayhem’ are still pretty darn spooky. Out on his own TERNESC imprint.
Percussive, alien techno from Blawan. On the Communicat 1022 EP Blawan’s inventive rhythms and love for industrial stomp are back, but they’re meaner and sharper. This vinyl 12” on Ternesc pushes his sound into something both more visceral and more abstract; borrowing from sounds design and drone, but never forgetting the raw drums either.
12” vinyl on Ternesc. Blawan puts his techno hat on and turns to his hardware for his Hanging out the Birds EP released through his own imprint. Four slowly evolving percussive techno tracks with fluttering kicks and analogue fizzes and scrapes layered over bass stabs and ominous drones. Early morning set business.
12” vinyl on Ternesc. Having been busy with Pariah working on their Karenn project, this is the first solo material from Blawan in three years. Warm Tonal Touch is also his first release on his own new label Ternesc. It’ an analogue modular affair with Blawan’s staple clanking industrial loops backing it up.
