Sun Kil Moon
This Is My Dinner

This Is My Dinner is the ninth album from Sun Kil Moon. It was written and recorded in November and December 2017 in Copenhagen and San Francisco. There are covers of AC/DC and Partridge Family songs. Mark Kozelek has also set a chapter from Irish writer, John Connolly’s novel ‘He’ to music. So it’s not just songs about his evening meal, then? CD on Caldo Verde.

Hunters Chorus
Old Growler

Old Growler is the debut album by Hunters Chorus. It is the work of Ramon Fermin, who has previously worked with Sun Kil Moon, Magik*Magik Orchestra and Ignition Duo. It is an instrumental album with Fermin playing all the guitar and bass parts, assisted by Haig Shirinian on drums. It was recorded by Deafheaven producer, Jack Shirley. LP on Caldo Verde.

Mark Kozelek & Sean Yeaton
Yellow Kitchen

Why does Mark Kozelek have so many friends? Here he sings over music made by Sean Yeaton (Parquet Courts) and features guest appearances by Will Oldham, Steve Shelley, Jim White and an actual woman in Holly Throsby. Let’s hope Kozelek kept his views to himself in the latter session. Very limited (to 300) CD only release.

Sun Kil Moon / Jesu
30 Seconds To The Decline Of Planet Earth

Oh no. Not again. Sun Kil Moon (aka Mark Kozelek) and Jesu (aka Justin K Broadrick) have been fans of one another for years and this is the second LP they've come up with together in recent times. The first one had it's moments so if they can reign in Kozelek's verbal diarrhoea this could be worth a listen.

Kath Bloom
This Dream Of Life

The usual shuffle, cough and an 'oooh'. The sound of Phil finding something he terms as exciting on the new release lists....and yes Kath Blooms 19th album could be a cause of celebration. She's spent the last five winters making it and has roped in guests such as Avi Buffalo and label boss and verbal diarist Mark Kozelek.

Mark Kozelek
Sings Favorites

Mark Kozelek, formerly of Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon, sure keeps busy. Here he is with a piano-and-voice-based album of covers, taking in choice selections from artists like Modest Mouse, Bob Seger and David Bowie. Sings Favourites also has some guest singing from Will Oldham, Mike Patten and Mimi Parker (of Low). On Caldo Verde.

Mark Kozelek and Nicolas Pauls
Dreams of Childhood: A Spoken Word Album

La Casa de la Cultura de la Calle is a non-profit organisation that works on behalf of homeless Argentine children. In a novel piece of awareness-raising, they have commissioned some of the children to write poems, and had these poems performed by Mark Kozelek and Nicolas Pauls. All proceeds of Dreams Of Childhood will fund the organisation’s work.
