Via Maris

New release from Via Maris released on cool DJ Beneath's record label, his first since releasing on cool label Livity Sound, and built for the likes of cool ex-club Plastic People. Shelleys is three tracks of bass heavy techno that still manages to show the breadth and depth of Via Maris's talents.

Special Offer / Kushty

After four years releasing cuts from a handful of underground producers, the Mistry boss has unleashed some rather grim work of his own under the Beneath moniker. Two slabs of dark, unfriendly beat work and (presumably) some kind of FM synthesised stabs form an uncompromising and stark dance floor sound world.

Dekalb / Collate

When Batu records for the Mistry label, he seems to do his best work and with each work he seems to find more of his own sound. However there are still the starting points that he shares with the likes of Beneath, Pinch and Lurka such as tempo and aesthetic. Dakalib thuds at the bottom, snaps at the top and wails in the middle. on the flip, Collate takes bass and industrial drums to the jungle at 130 bpm.

Draw For The

Dubbed-out low-end groove-shuffle action from Laksa, throwing down three new tracks over two sides of vinyl. This platter is the fourth release from the Mistry label, and comes primed to do highly efficient work in enlivening dancefloors. Draw For The… has an exciting swagger about it and no mistake: look out for more from Laksa.

Tank / Beaviane

Only the third release on the Mistry label, Chevel's newest 12” is here to treat all you early Monday-night party-seekers to the time of your life. Accessible by virtue of its fat bass and dirty drums, the two tracks released by the funky Italian will have you moving your feet no matter the time of day.

Aegrus / Clocked

Young label Mistry brings forward some minimal techno vibes on this 12" -- Webstarr, a Hull producer with an affection for piling on the bass, s behind "Aegrus", which makes up the A-side of this release. On the flip, another modest techno-head spreads his wings, Chevel offering up a remix with less percussive force and more room to breathe -- unless you're agoraphobic. Darkness rules supreme.

Alex Coulton
Bleep Sequence / Tension

Alex Coulton makes the deft first mark on Beneath’s Mistry label, a new home for darker, techy UK riddims, with a necessary vinyl cut of his in-demand ‘Bleep Sequence’ and the slick forward motion of ‘Tension’. A secret weapon in Beneath’s DJ sets for the last few years, ‘Bleep Sequence’ weighs up a definitive reduction of dark garage, dubbed techno and Yorkshire-style bleep ‘n bass with plangent radar pings and body-scanning subs rolling from a spare, halfstep swagger into dread techno momentum.
