The Wedding Present
The Complete Ukrainian John Peel Sessions

The excellent Hatch Records (Nine Black Alps, Napoleon IIIrd) are the ones behind this Wedding Present reissue. They’ve tacked all kinds of bonus goodies onto this new edition of the band’s famous Ukrainian-language John Peel outings. Not only are all three of the live sessions included here, but there is also an informative booklet and a DVD featuring interviews, concert videos and footage from a rare BBC2 show on The Wedding Present. New artwork, too - they weren’t lying when they put Complete in the title of The Complete Ukrainian John Peel Sessions.

The Wedding Present
Marc Riley Sessions Volume 3

The Wedding Present certainly get on with Marc Riley: he has brought them in for sessions on numerous occasions over the years, and this release collects tracks from some 2015 and 2016 sessions. Some Present classics, plus a fetching cover of the Nancy Sinatra Bond theme ‘You Only Live Twice’. Marc Riley Sessions Volume 3 is released by Hatch Records.

The Wedding Present
Huw Stephens Session

Twelve years ago Leeds (or Otley as I once heard Dave Gedge specify at gig once) favourites The Wedding Present recorded four covers for Huw Stephens’ One Music radio show. One of them is Take That’s Back For Good.  Here’s Huw Stephens Session for your delectation on 10” vinyl EP or CD.

The Wedding Present
Marc Riley Sessions Volume 2

The time is nigh. For those who bought 'Volume One' last year the wait is over. Here we can present ageing indie strummers Wedding Present delivering a second volume of their Marc Riley sessions. This contains songs from no fewer than 8 of their studio albums plus the usual murder of a classic  - this time it's the turn of the Monkees 'Pleasant Valley Sunday'.

Napoleon IIIrd
The Great Lake

Napolean IIIrd (aka James Mabbett) has certainly clocked up the miles since his last album six years ago. He moved from Yorkshire to London (boo!) then back to Yorkshire (yaay!) and here has documented his experiences into a bold and brave record that deals with grief, humanity and hope over the course of five lengthy and intense tracks.

Then Thickens
Colic

Colic is the new album by Then Thickens. The indie band from Chorley, Lancashire began as solo project of Jon-Lee Martin before expanding to the five-piece we have here. Their debut album, Death Cap at Anglezarke was critically acclaimed with a whole host of DJs from Radio 1 and 6 Music praising their efforts. The band describe themselves as having ‘60s production, ‘70s melody and ‘90s lyrics. After successful support slots with Biffy Clyro, Echo & The Bunnymen and Nine Black Alps, Then Thickens could well be the next big thing..
