Horsebeach
The Unforgiving Current

Manchester-based songwriter Ryan Kennedy was inspired by his recent move to Tokyo on his fourth Horsebeach album The Unforgiving Current. The lonely, nocturnal travelogue feel of the record expresses that indescribable sense of loneliness that, weirdly, only comes in extremely populous city centres.

Horsebeach
II

Manchester’s Horsebeach return with their second album. Appropriately titled II, it follows on from the critically acclaimed self-titled debut. II sees the band being lyrically deep once again whilst not shying away from hazy summer pop melodies. If you enjoy the likes of Real Estate and the New Zealand bands that attracted the attention of the Flying Nun label, then this is probably your kinda thing.

Horsebeach
Beauty & Sadness

Oh lovely Horsebeach. I hope we didn't fall out too badly in that we maybe didn't give their last album quite the plaudits of their first one. Listening to this lovely new record make me feel even worse about that. The band superbly marry the melancholic rain drenched sound of the Smiths with the jangling beauty of Real Estate.  Here they've introduced some synths too adding to the feel of early 80s dreamers China Crisis and the Lotus Eaters.
