Reel Torque Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
Our Versions Of Their Versions is the sound of Raime taking apart and rearranging their own music from over the years into a dancehall-styled mixtape, complete with contributions from some guest vocalists. It’s such a proper mixtape, it comes presented on an actual cassette tape. Edition of 400 on Reel Torque: please note that the tape plays the same on both sides.
Audint is the art / sound / music operation of Toby Heys and Steve Goodman, the latter being better known as bass music kingpin Kode9. Reel Torque Volume 32 is a ‘sonic research project’ on a Vietnamese bioacoustics expert who may or may not exist: either way, this is some fascinating audio. Released as a cassette in a nice box (where it sits alongside some notes and some fake money) in a tightly limited edition of 128.
NPLGNN’s debut album is raw and uncompromising. 10 tracks of emotion-laden discordancy, all recorded live in one take. All sounds drawn from the Korg Electribe EMX1, making the most out of a single bit of kit. Best listened to in one play, perhaps in the car cruising around Sheffield as in the heady days of rave. Cassette and download on Reel Torque.
