Oscar Jerome
Live In Amsterdam

It's already been quite the couple of years for jazz soul fusion guy Oscar Jerome. He's played with Kamasi Washington, collaborated with Ezra Collective and Sons of Kemet and been playlisted by 6 Music all while sounding unnervingly like Jamiroquai. Music college-friendly jazz often sounds at its best when performed live and so some wise bod has taped a performance by Jerome in Amsterdam and slung it out on vinyl for us all to enjoy. Six tracks of smooth coming your way.

Iggy Pop
Free

Living legend Iggy Pop has been dogged by insecurity all his life. The process of making and touring his last album, 2016’s Post Pop Depression, helped him with this. He wanted to feel free, so he allowed that feeling to take over, and Free, his 19th solo album, developed from there. It is different in tone to its predecessor, finding Iggy in a pensive and solemn mood.

Mystery Jets
A Billion Heartbeats

Mystery Jets return with their sixth album and it now seems like a long time ago since they had their dad in the band. The boys have been influenced by the increasingly terrifying rise of the alt-right in the UK and other territories and have set about constructing an album that tries to share a positive message in the fight against intolerance. Basically that we should all love and respect each other regardless of beliefs. Fat chance with some of those running our country but it's a nice sentiment.

Iggy Pop
Zombie Birdhouse

Iggy’s sixth solo album is getting a reissue for the first time since its 1982 release. Produced by Blondie’s Chris Stein, the vinyl will contain sleeve notes written by Irvine Welsh. Zombie Birdhouse sees Iggy at his monologuing best, spinning tales over a mix of Afrobeat, drone and chugging guitars. Also featuring an unseen version of ‘Pain and Suffering’ with Debbie Harry singing backup.

Manchester Orchestra
The Black Mile Demos

Manchester Orchestra are from Atlanta, Georgia, but take their name from the beautiful northern city of rain and trams. The Black Mile Demos compiles recordings of songs that ultimately made up their fifth album, A Black Mile To The Surface. This record shows the songs in their most skeletal form, recorded with one microphone. Special release for Black Friday. LP on Caroline International.

Fotheringay
Fotheringay

Fotheringay were the band that Sandy Denny formed with husband, Trevor Lucas following her stint with folk-rock trailblazers Fairport Convention. The band, for their 1970 eponymous debut, featured Jerry Donahue on guitar. The album features 4 Sandy Denny-penned songs along with versions of songs by Bob Dylan and Gordon Lightfoot. That sleeve though?!

Nine Inch Nails
ADD VIOLENCE EP

Released digitally in July, Caroline International bring the second in a series of three EPs from Nine Inch Nails to physical format. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross touch every base across five tracks, with a synth driven stomper, glitchy experimental electronics and a heavy and distorted climax…

Underworld & Iggy Pop
Teatime Dub Encounters

Underworld & Iggy Pop originally began collaborating with a view to coming up with something for the Trainspotting II film. Makes sense, and when you think about about it Underworld and Iggy have a lot of complementary attributes. This makes Teatime Dub Encounters a better record than it should be. ‘Bells & Circles’ has an early LCD Soundsystem thing going on, finding the exact midpoint between ‘All My Friends’ and ‘Us Vs. Them’. The rest of the EP flits between this dancefloor sound and more cerebral ambience.

Get Well Soon
The Horror

Get Well Soon is the musical project of German multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, Konstantin Gropper. The Horror is his sixth album and like his previous efforts, it offers up some musical complexity and intelligent lyrics. Gropper has previously collaborated with filmmaker Wim Wenders on the soundtrack to his 2008 film, Palermo Shooting. 2LP and CD on Caroline International.

And The Golden Choir
Breaking With Habits

Indie encounters of the grand and soulful kind from Berlin’s sumptuously-named And the Golden Choir. This one-person choir of one Tobias Siebert mixes up various instruments and references, but his overall style is quite a consistent, camp melodrama - somewhere between Dead Can Dance and Keane.

Karl Hyde & Matthew Herbert
Fatherland (Original Music from the Stage Show)

Karl Hyde of 90’s party-starters Underworld and inventive electronic music scientist Matthew Herbert have teamed up to accompany a new play written by Simon Stephens, Fatherland. You’ll have to get down to the theatre to hear Hyde and Herbert’s work in proper context, but this album presentation of the work still sounds storming. CD release on Caroline International.

The Amazons
The Amazons

With a fervent cult following to boot, The Amazons' self titled debut is a stadium-sized indie-rock beast. The four-piece's catchy anthems are destined for chart-ruffling success, with high critical acclaim from the NME to BBC Radio 1. With six bonus tracks in addition to the eleven track main portion, here's you chance to grab a high value slice of history.

British Sea Power
Let The Dancers Inherit The Party

Although their unique way with live performance and semi-bonkers ideas might suggest otherwise, British Sea Power's music is often very standard stadium leaning rock and they continue this trend on this their first new material in four years. Full of intelligent songs the clunkily titled Let the Dance's Inherit the Party features the usual wide range of subject manner pinned on to blustery '80s inspired pop/rock.

David Brent
Life On The Road

Ricky "Are You Offended???????????????????????????" Gervais smugly presents his new collection of smash hits, or so we assume, from the sort of conceptually bemusing follow-up to The Office (UK) which follows David Brent touring as a bona fide rocker. Life On The Road has a soundtrack with songs made by Gervais himself -- are you excited? They might be as good as his tweets.

Underworld
Barbara Barbara, We Face A Shining Future

UK dance music originals Underworld return with Barbara, Barbara We Face A Shining Future their first release in six years. The band’s tight synth pop dynamics and heavy, house percussion still feel fresh, as does their commitment to bringing some wit and silliness to electronic music. Available as vinyl LP and CD.

Get Well Soon
Love

Get Well Soon stares down that trickiest, most universal of subjects, Love: a bold move. It may well be Konstantin Gropper’s most broadly accessible record to date, covering the highs and lows of the titular emotion within a witty, emotionally open indie rock structure. Out on Caroline International.

Mystery Jets
Curve of the Earth

Mystery Jets pull slightly away from their psychedelic-indie-pop routes slightly on new album Curve of the Earth, making a Foals-esque move into deeper, darker, more melancholy songwriting. It fits them pretty well in fact, lead single ‘Telomere’ rising and falling between quiet piano passages and firmer crescendoes. Out on Caroline International.

Eagles Of Death Metal
Zipper Down

Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes’ almost-but-not-quite serious rock band Eagles Of Death Metal return with their fourth full-length, Zipper Down. It has the heavy touch typical of Homme, but with extra touches like silly operatic backing vocals. And then there’s the cover art… On Caroline International.
