Vladislav Delay
Visa

Vladislav Delay's newest record is a miracle of sorts, in that the producer has delivered us his first ambient record in ten years. We've been waiting; other genres are all well and good, but no one can meditate on motifs quite like Delay, able to extract sounds from the backdrop and point to them like they're indelible melodies. No beats on 'Visa', though: just Delay wandering the land alone.

Heisenberg
Ripatti06

Frequent collaborators Sasu Ripatti, AKA Vladislav Delay, and Max Loderbauer become Heisenberg. Ripatti was intended as a label to release various unhinged studio experiments but these tracks are murkier, faster and, if I’m being cruel, much more fun than their recent solo work. It’s the kind of free-form techno only made by people in complete control of their techniques. Vinyl 12” limited to 350 copies.

Vladislav Delay vs Teeth
Ripatti04

Pretty intense electronics here from Vladislav Delay and Teeth. The two producers got together in the studio to craft these two sides: A sounds brooding, with some kind of voice murmuring at you behind the relentless clicking beat. B isn’t a lot more friendly. A highly compelling slice of vinyl from these two Finnish guys.

Vladislav Delay
Ripatti03

Sasu Ripatti’s eponymous imprint finally gets some Vladislav Delay action. The third release on his own label, Ripatti has called upon his big gun alter ego to continue the quality, experimental output of previous releases. Both tracks recall former Delay production glories but envelopes are pushed further still. Double stepped and nearly danceable, both tracks skitter and hint at high BPM action. A real forward thinker's dancefloor assault. Strictly 12" vinyl.
