Plenty of abstract feelings from R Stevie Moore. Ariel Pink's Picks: Volume One is the first in the series of releases from this pair. With most of the material being recorded between '73 & 84', Mr Pink chooses his favourites from this era of Moores output, which consists of his weirdo & bohemian art-folk-rock. Also got a few tunes with the pair playing together. Get it on vinyl double LP from Personal Injury.
You just know from that title that this has some severe Pavement influences going on. But these ain't new pretenders this is a re-issue from a cassette only release back in 1994 where every college long hair played their guitars sideways and ranted noisily about appliances. This rabble feature folks from New Bad Things who were a fine noise pop outfit. Expect a good mess.
