Phonica Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
For the twentieth release from the label arm of Phonica Records (Paul Woolford, Roman Fluegel) we get a reissue of Stereofuse’s 2003 EP Casino. The four tracks here were club hits when they first came on the scene, receiving support from the likes of Craig Richards and Ricardo Villalobos. Cuts like ‘Hot Slot’ and ‘Royal Flash’ are mid-2000s tech-house par excellence.
A couple of lengthy slices of indulgently enjoyable acid here from Scotland's Neil "Lord Of The Isles" McDonald. With the crisp and bright 'Greane' clocking in at ten minutes and the moody synth-string-drone and synth loop shuffle of 'Gigha' at eight, each is a mini-symphony of subtly shifting beats and bright acidy synth loops.
