WOO
Into The Heart Of Love

Woo make some of the most delightful sounds known to man. The press release describes this as their masterpiece, if so it must be on a plane higher than any music previously made by human as their previous re-issues (and the collection of out-takes 'When the Past Arrives') are some of my favourite recordings on earth. Starting in the late 70's these two brothers released a series of albums featuring delicately circling (mainly) instrumental music. Sounding not unlike the vignettes on Young Marble Giants 'Testcard' EP their primitive music will appeal to fans of Brian Eno, Phillip Glass and Durutti Column. The past few years has seen them unearthed and re-discovered giving a veritable treasure trove of lovely sounds.  This album was a cassette only release back in the day and is a joyous, uplifting ode to love and is full of their oddly dubby compositions perfect for late night fireside listening. You have to love 'em.

Javier Bergia
Eclipse

A new vinyl LP from the Emotional Rescue label which chronicle's the dreamy sounds of Spaniard Javier Bergia. With a career spanning almost three decades, Eclipse is a selection from the mid 80's up until the present. Blending multiple genres, instruments and techniques, Eclipse merges traditional Spanish root music with jazz, pop and folk sensibilities. A real eclectic treat.

WOO
Magic In The Dark

"Magic In The Dark" was an early folk song by Woo and one of the first to feature vocals, originally released on 'La La Luna'. It's now getting a 7" re-release to complement the reissue of the band's landmark record, 'Into The Heart of Love'. This 7" brings back both "Magic In The Dark" and two tracks left out of the 'Into The Heart of Love' reissue party: "Make Me Tea", another folk ditty, and "A Little Long Way". This sees Woo at their most conventional and sweet-sounding, based around little more than bright acoustic guitars and Mark Ives' deep, wistful voice.    Tracks: Magic In The Dark Make Me Tea A Little Long Way
