Local Action Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
D∆WN, or Dawn Richards, has put out some of the most audacious, genre hybrid, R&B of the decade. Her sound is prone to wildly liquidating digital textures, and ‘New Breed’ looks to continue this forward looking approach. This visual and musical aesthetic that D∆WN has spent the past few years perfecting is simply quite unlike anything out there right now.
This is the debut record from Erskine Lynas and is called Lease of Youth. This ten-track record has similarities to many bands from the 70/80/90's but with a more contemporary twist - very mellow synth-pop if you will. Available on vinyl LP and released on Local Action (who are apparently VERY proud to announce this one).
As a nine-track expedition, Local Action label present Earth Body - a full-length that contributes to the modern evolutions of UK post-dubstep. Deadboy's latest release is influenced by spheres of R&B, house and dance - which fuse exciting new elements to the producer's trademark style.

Following her EP on Fade To Mind, D∆WN returns to Local Action with a new album in tow, completing the trilogy after GoldenHeart and Blackheart. Redemption’s lead single “Renegades” sees her “Not Above That” producer Machinedrum return to collaborate on more exuberant electronic-R&B where vocal harmonies, anthemic horns and skittering percussion coexist in an ecstatic utopia of explosive colour. Dawn Richard’s Danity Kane days are long gone.
Grotto documents what Lil Jabba has been up to since he moved to Brooklyn, NYC a couple of years ago. Turns out: quite a lot. Grotto (named after Jabba’s studio) jumps around plenty of different styles, sometimes merging jungle rhythms, dub production and samples of piping into one addictive tune. Vinyl release on Local Action.
Yamaneko crafts atmospheric electronic tracks that swim through the digital detritus of various sound-genres, from instrumental grime to keygen chiptune to new age ambient. The connecting thread on Project Nautilus is the notion of the deep sea, which gives a particularly heavy and isolated texture to the sounds. LP release on Local Action.
Instrumental grime connoisseurs Local Action records release some ridiculously catchy and joyful pop-house from DAWN and a predictably excellent ambient remix from Deadboy. On Not Above That DAWN (aka Dawn Richards of Danity Kane fame) switches between dance genres to create something fresh and vibrant.
