Albert Elms and Ron Grainer
Man in a Suitcase: Box Set

Following on from the tradition of Film and TV themes that were perfected over the pond in the Hollywood studios by the likes of Henry Mancini, the theme to 60s UK P.I. caper, Man In A Suitcase scored by Albert Elms and Ron Grainer is one of the best examples of "crime jazz". This box set comprises more than 300 pieces of music that were written especially for the show. Man In A Suitcase: Box Set is available as a 5CD box set.

Albert Elms and Ron Grainer
Man in a Suitcase

A man in a suitcase. Imagine that. Some of the more long-in-the-tooth of you out there may remember when the Man In A Suitcase run aired on ITV between 1967 and 1968. The show drew praise when it first emerged, and not least for its original score. With Ron Grainer (Doctor Who, Steptoe And Son) handling the main theme, Albert Elms busied himself with the incidental pieces. The resulting compositions, released on vinyl here for the first time, are part-library big band and part-swinging ‘60s ye-ye struts.
