Nurse With Wound
Echo Poeme: Sequence No 2

The definitive avant-industrial collective, Nurse with Wound, with a typically unpredictable release. Echo Poeme: Sequence No 2 on vinyl LP from Drastic Planet is a single almost hour long track built from looped and processed female vocals. Originally released in 2005, the single sound source creates a ghostly ambient music full of weird shifts and strange tones.

The Birthday Party
Prayers On Fire

The Birthday Party were of course Nick Cave’s first group, and Prayers On Fire was their first record. Drenched in heroin and violence both threatened and enacted, this was a pretty strong statement to start a career with. A darkly cinematic trip, pressed premium-style in a replica sleeve. 1,500 copies only, on Drastic Plastic.

Joy Division
Preston 28 February 1980

Recorded just two and a half months before Ian Curtis took his own life, you won't be surprised to learn that the live set on this LP was performed in Preston on February 28, 1980. It was a set fraught with technical problems, the bass amp struggling in and out of the mix as mysterious squeaks and explosions clatter around the band's already minimal sound. "I think everything's falling apart" exclaims Curtis. "Everything's fucking bust so we're playing everything through the bass amp." "Anyone from Birmingham the coach is going in five minutes," pipes up another voice.
