Thomas Köner has boldly taken on the task of adapting / interpreting F.T. Marinetti’s famous Futurist Manifesto, as an audio-visual piece. As you’d expect from Köner, the feel is considerably slower than anything conjured in the Manifesto, which makes an intriguing conceptual statement given the differences between now and 1908. DVD on Von Archives.
Glorious all-consuming-drone composer Phill Niblock is also a filmmaker: in fact, this is what he was known for initially, though his releases over the years have concealed that. T H I R is a 1972 film work that intensely focuses on details of nature, accompanied by two different Niblock soundtracks. DVD from Von Archives.
Prurient / Nico Vascellari
Nico Vascellari is primarily a visual and performance artist, and if the prospect of a visual accompaniment being provided for a Prurient performance doesn’t frighten you, maybe it should. Especially as the live performances captured on Jesus were centered around Klaus Kinski and GG Allin. Double LP of brutality on Von Archives.
