Flat Worms
Into The Iris

Flat Worms are an LA band who move in those vivid psychy circles surrounding Thee Oh Sees (the last Flat Worms album came out on John Dwyer’s Castle Face label) and Ty Segall (he recorded Into The Iris, in his house no less). That means they deliver high levels of energy and lots of fuzzy fun! This little EP is released by God?

The fabled DMBQ (that’s Dynamite Masters Blues Quartet, by the way) return with their 13th LP after more than a decade away. Keeenly finds the Boredoms-adjacent group summoning up their unique brand of noisepsychdoomsludge for a record that makes many others look puny. DMBQ are one of Ty Segall’s favourite bands, dontcha know.

The Cairo Gang

‘Untouchable’ is the full length release from The Cairo Gang. This album sends you back in time to a day where simple drumming and soft guitars were the norm, alongside catchy vocals and a guitar solo towards the end. A nice combination of early 1960’s indie-rock and classic youth-pop. Available on Vinyl LP and CD.

Ganglion Reef

Pyschedelic fuzzmongers Wand release their debut album 'Ganglion Reef' on GOD? records ahead of a US tour with Ty Segall. Sun drenched '60s garage pop with a heavy fuzz haze, this LA 4-piece provide a shimmering laid-back soundtrack to a chilled out summer driving along Route 66 in a soft top Chevrolet. Or even just a trip to B&Q.

Axis: Sova
Motor Earth

Axis:Sova is a project that loves to skulk around in the fuzz and haze of lo-fi production, with gloriously textured results. New release Motor Earth expands outwards into more of a proper band than a bedroom solo project, but that doesn’t mean the sound has straightened itself up: hell no, they’ve stayed gnarly. LP and cassette editions on the God? label.

The Cairo Gang
Goes Missing

The Cairo Gang produce happy jangle-pop, main gang-member Emmett Kelly’s voice immediately recalling earlier days: the likes of Orange Juice come to mind. Goes Missing sends a strong set of songs flowing out into the world, sunny and harmonically rich. Out on the really quite brilliantly named God? label.

Axis: Sova
Early Surf

Bending waves with Axis: Sova. Early Surf is the nine tracker form the Chicago fuzz-o-phile. Taking psych-rock to the next dimension, Sova's pull out all the stops, with righteously acidic guitar wizardry, tripped out vocal production and krautrockish lo-fi drum machines. Think Santana, Sonic Youth, Wooden Shjips, Lightning Bolt and a hazy of bonged out vibes. Out on vinyl LP from God?

Black Goat Razor / Pain Reaper

ZATH (pronounced ‘ZOTH’) is made of three men - Zack Weil, Seth Sher and Dan Browning, all of whom have an existence outside of the howling maw of rage / despair that is ZATH. In fact, they’re all pretty busy musicians in other Chicago bands: guitarist and singer Zack plays in Oozing Wound and was previously in Cacaw; drummer Seth makes music as SYNE and Psychic Steel and also played in Coughs and Ga’an; bassist Dan works hard in CAVE as well.
