Blut Aus Nord
Memoria Vetusta II – Dialogue with the Stars

Memoria Vetusta II – Dialogue with the Stars is the seventh album by French band Blut Aus Nord. It was originally released in 2009. They play avant garde black metal which incorporates a very heavy version of shoegaze. Despite their black metal status, they’ve decided to reissue this on orange marbled vinyl which you’d think would be too bright for them. Nevertheless it will look great on your turntable and sound great blaring from your speakers.

Orange Goblin
The Wolf Bites Back

Ben, Joe, Martyn and Chris don’t particularly sound like a bunch of stoner metalers, but put them under the banner of Orange Goblin and they grow some sharp teeth to match their long hair and tats. The Wolf Bites Back is the London band’s ninth long player. It was recorded on analogue equipment and features a guest performance from ex-Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell. Limited edition blue vinyl LP and digipak CD versions are available alongside standard black vinyl and jewel case CD versions on Candlelight.

From Beyond
The Band From Beyond

From Beyond trace their supernatural origin back to Houston, Texas. The spooky forest and neon text on the album’s cover art has an eerie, Twin Peaks-y atmosphere to it, while the early 90s hard rock style of the music also pulls off a sinister vibe with John Carpenter-esque keyboards and a lot of reverb on the lead vocals.
