Anton Barbeau
Heaven Is In Your Mind

Anton Barbeau is a US born singer songwriter with crazy hair who has quietly been releasing power pop and psych rock and has collaborated with Game Theory's Scott Miller in the past so that makes him ok with me. Here he delivers an EP of one original and three covers one of which is the world's 14796436th version of Big Star's 'September Gurls'.

Kris Gietkowski
Songs From The First Album By Egg

A self professed oddity from the Fruits de Mer/Regal Crabomophone label. This is a guy they found on youtube, Kris Gietkowski, who performed and recorded (by himself) most of the first album by Canterbury scene psych-prog rockers Egg. From 1970 it is an obscure psychedelic trip through time signatures and 70s experimentation. The internet is a crazy tool sometimes.

Astralasia
Oceania

A grand journey into the unknown from ambient psychedelic prog band Astralasia. Taking you through found sound ambience to arpeggiated electronics and hazy saxophones and guitars. Bloody good headphones and solitary (preferably at night) required. It comes with a sheet of imitation acid… I think you get the vibe.

Crystal Jacqueline
Morning Dew

Crystal Jacqueline have a bit fun with this little 7”, performing 3 covers of favourite songs (by The Jaynetts, Bonnie Dobson and Joe Byrd and The Field Hippies) and 1 original by their associate Icarus Peel. The new, extra-psychedelic spins they provide are very welcome, as is the hallucinatory sleeve art and the coloured wax of the vinyl. 7” in Regal Crabomophone.

Sendelica
The Cromlech Chronicles

Sendelica are a thoroughly psychedelic band: they sound like they must be functioning on weapons-grade acid to reach this level of deep-space drift. The Cromlech Chronicles is the sound of some weighty far-out jams recorded in a Welsh studio, and features new material as well as a Flower Travellin’ Band cover! On Regal Crabomophone.

Claudio Cataldi
Here She Comes Now

It’s no slight on the songwriting skills of Claudio Cataldi to say that his cover of The Velvet Underground’s Here She Comes Now is the highlight of this EP: you just can’t beat that classic Lou Reed tune, and Cataldi lays it out with just the right amount of swagger and distortion. 3 of his original tunes also feature. Coloured vinyl 7” on Regal Crabamophone.

The Chemistry Set
The Endless More and More

London band The Chemistry Set have been viewed as one of the best neo-psychedelic bands of the last 25 years. Their love of vinyl has also supplied their cult following with plenty of treats too: Their last five 7” singles released through Fruits De Mer sold out in less than a day. Their new album, The Endless More & More follows the critical success of the 2015 EP Elapsed Memories which included a marvelous reworking of the Jimi Hendrix track Love or Confusion. The band say that this is the first time that they have been 100% happy with an album. Gold vinyl LP on Legal Crabomophone, limited to 600 copies.

Us and Them
By The Time It Gets Dark

By The Time It Gets Dark is a gloriously delicate cover of one of Sandy Denny's lesser know songs by Swedish acid-folk duo Us and Them. On the b-side we find the duo covering Welsh folk-pop maestro Donovan’s Jabberwocky, which appeared on his H.M.S. Donovan album. Available on 7” single, plays at 33rpm.
