This is Paul Vickers' unique way of a rock opera & with some fresh original ideas it works out well. The story is about Itchy Grumble who became immortal after he drank the tears of a witch. As always Paul creates fine melodies & rhythms out of all the mayhem, & sees him generally moving further away from the DOTR footprint. There is...view item

oh no!! here are the LORDS OF BASTARD on SL with Off With Their Head. Sounding very shouty with distorted guitar and chugging
rhythm its making the air turn black. A bit Motorhead, Queens of the Stone Age. 7"
have summat out too. 'Candidate' is more C86 flecked indie, buzzsaw
trebly jangle with an anthemic britpop edge. You could right imagine

Well the new Misty's Big Adventure single sounds like Julian Cope
circa 'Sunshine Playroom' over the perkiest lost Divine Comedy jingle you
could imagine. Or a really good Adam Green song Utterly joy filled
classic pop. So fine I'll bask in It's glory for another few spins (It's only a

Ballboy... Now they make proper indie like yr mother did... It's quite
refreshing to hear something as simple and twee as his every now and again. So

Degrassi- new single on SL- Home of Ballboy. This
is more rocking. Like a more mellow, gentler Urusei Yatsura, possibly
a slowed down Idlewild. Who knows. Terminal ocean is not bad at all though. ...view item
Also from Scotland are Ballboy. This is tuneful pop/rock with
swarthes of mid eighties keyboards and big drums. Sounds like Pulp
crossed with Big Country. A bit like what Viv Savages solo
project would sound like if he was scottish. Club Anthems 2002 is CD only...view item
Ballboy have a new album of jaunty scottish pop which I'm sure
will get played on John Peel quite a lot. Seems to be a cross between
Belle and Sebastian, Wedding Present and Half Man Half Biscuit. A Guide For The Daylight Hours is CD only...view item
